SUMMIT BACKGROUND

Green, sustainability and safety have been set as main targets in the most of mining operations. International associations and organizations like iied, ICMM, world business council for sustainable development have conducted several investigations, researches and announcements in various perspective for the goal including mining environment, mining & community, resource sustainability etc. Under this background, more and more mining companies are striving towards a sustainable future.

Back to China, with the rising attention to mine environment, sustainability and safety, China central government invested 3.6 billion RMB in the mine geological environment governance projects in 2009, increased by 1.9 billion from 2008. Policies and regulations on green and safe mining have been released or will be issued in these two years including Interim Measures on the Green Mine Construction (2010) as well as incentive taxation policy to promotion the development of this area.
